My EXA manifesto

At the end of this last semester, we were tasked with creating a manifesto that expressed our values,  convictions, beliefs, and attitudes about the expressive arts (EXA), and to come up with 8-10 core statements that reflected these values and beliefs.

Here is mine:

The imaginal realm allows us to envision and embody new choices.  

Creativity creates choice. 

Having choice increases resiliency. 

Expressive arts foster self-awareness and relational understanding. 

Self-awareness is self-care. 

Imagination is the core of creativity.  

All people are creative.  

Expressive arts connects us to Spirit, the imaginal realm, and unique meaning-making. 

Expressive arts connect us to ourselves.  

The imaginal realm allows us to envision and embody new choices.
